Film Review The Movie Crash - 1757 Words

Most people who watch films watch them simply for enjoyment, rarely anyone notices all the work that is done to actually put together a film. Before taking this class I had no idea how much is done by so many different people to make a film flow, to make it engaging and pleasurable for viewers. Now watching films, I pay attention to all minor details and pick up techniques used that I never would ve noticed prior to taking this course, specifically in editing. Editing is one of the major keys that puts a film together in so many different ways. If I brought this up to a student who has never taken a film course I’m sure they would say, â€Å"editing isn t important, all the editor has to do is put shots together†. Is that really all it is? Not even close. In my opinion, without editing, viewers would miss so many important factors that the director and film editor want us to capture in certain scenes or shots. In Paul Haggis’ Crash (2004), there are many intense scenes that use editing, mainly cuts -which is when the camera is focused on one character or sequence, and then changes focus to something else in the blink of an eye- to make the scene flow or to help us notice important details in the scene. In this vast and chaotic universe, it is easy to wonder how much control one single human truly has over their own destiny. Is a person’s life dominated by a plethora of choices and consequences or is it already mapped out by a greater force? This question has been discussed since the time of the first ancient civilizations in Mesopotamia. Although it is still without a clear answer ages later, the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Odyssey propose interesting insights into the role of fate and choice in the human experience. Neither the Odyssey nor The Epic of Gilgamesh gives a black or white answer to the question of human autonomy versus divine control. As of today, there are a bunch of social networking sites available to us. Some we probably don’t even know about, while new ones are in the process of getting made. The most popular ones that we all use to present day, in no particular order, are Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, and maybe many more, but the one I want to talk about in this essay is my favorite one of all, Tumblr. Some of us might have a Tumblr account; some of us probably don’t even know what Tumblr is. Well, I would be delighted to tell you. Tumblr is a social networking site and is also a blogging site. You’ll see that mostly teens and young adults use Tumblr, maybe even some older people. When I first got an account I instantly got hooked to it. Some people may tell†¦show more content†¦I see posts and I’m like, â€Å"OMG that is totally me†or, â€Å"Gosh why are these girls so pretty and I’m not?† It’s always mixed emotions when I get on Tumblr. Another downside to Tumblr is the nasty and disturbing images. I get so grossed out by the stuff I see sometimes. One minute there’s pictures of flowers, cute couples, pictures of beautiful scenery, and then there’s the pictures of nasty people self harming themselves and people naked and having sex. It’s just not a pleasant sight to see. How can someone put their stuff out like that? It is just torture. I remember there was this one GIF, which are animated pictures, and someone had a gun pointing in his mouth and he pulls the trigger and you see blood and everything just explode out of his head. Yeah, it’s sad that people commit suicide and cut themselves, but don’t go posting pictures about it, just talk to someone about it. In conclusion, Tumblr is a very good thing, but it can be a very bad thing in my opinion. Even with all the pictures that are nasty and the pictures that make me insecure, I still love Tumblr and will never stop loving it. During the collection of the data I found some difficulties like the customers had no time to give time or they were too busy with their works and in most cases they were not available at their places. I generally went into the market in hard sunlight and manier times its rains. I took some action to solve these problems like I took data through telephone, observation. There is one thing that I have found that the peoples working at Kotak Mahindra Bank ltd are very much helpful in all areas. Every time they come to me and told me that they are available at anytime for me for anything, which really boost me and motivates me towards my goal and objectives. The culture of Kotak mahindra bank ltd. is very much friendly and cool to work there.
